1943-D Silver Jefferson "War" Nickel PCGS MS65
Silver 1943-D Jefferson "war" nickel graded Mint State 65 by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). This coin is part of an 11 coin set from 1942-1945 that are the only nickel dates to contain silver in United States history. In the early 1940's the U.S. Mint changed the composition of the 5 cent coin to include approximately 35% silver in an effort to conserve the metal nickel for the war. This coin was minted in Denver hence the "D" mint mark. Multiple are available therefore buyer may not receive exact item in photos but all are similar in appearance.
